1) "Ticket Scalper": People who buy and sell tickets get the label "ticket scalper". There is an image of a guy standing in front of the stadium yelling "Who needs tickets?"
2) Is it Legal? Many people have the assumption that buying and selling tickets is illegal or you need a license
3) Secretive Business: The ticket broker business has been shrouded in mystery for a very long time -- thus making it a difficult business to learn.
| Let's talk about these 3 "issues" ... |
1) Ticket Scalpers: If someone wants to call me a ticket scalper. Fine. I have bought and sold houses before. Does this make me a "house scalper"? As long as I am making money, I do not care what some uninformed person calls me. By the way, I have had thousands of transactions and I have NEVER stood outside of a stadium selling tickets.
2) Is it legal? Yes, but there are a few exceptions. The exceptions to this revolve around selling tickets within a certain distance of the stadium. Once again, I have NEVER sold a ticket in front of a stadium. Every single one of my transactions, thousands of them, has been completely legal and all done at my house.
3) Secretive Business: It's true that THEY don't want you to know about the hugely profitable ticket broker business, but we don't care what THEY think, and anyway...

| Exactly who are THEY? |
THEY are the ones quietly making hundreds of dollars a day from buying and selling concert and sports tickets.
THEY are usually known as ticket brokers. You see their stores around towns.
THEY don't want you to know about the ticket broker business because THEY selfishly fear the competition...and THEY have been doing a good job keeping a mystery around this business and raising the barriers of entry.
But the reality is that with proper guidance, anyone can make big money buying and selling sports and concert tickets...even if you have not done this before.
People's passion for their favorite sports team or rock star is not going away. Most businesses spend tons of money trying to create the awareness of their product and company. The funny thing is, often the best way to create awareness is to get the sports or rock star to endorse their product.
Wouldn't you like to be in a business where you can make money by just riding the coat tails of those making a fortune already? I am not going to make $100 million like LeBron, but can I make an extra few thousand by coat tails of the machine that brought him here? Yes I can and Yes you can!

I'm going to reveal a lot more about the secretive ticket broker business, but first I want to tell you how I discovered this business...
| Most people are too busy earning a living to make money. |
Sound familiar? That was me. I used to work long hours doing computer work 5 to 7 days a week. Everyone was yelling all the time. We had unreasonable requests and given no time or resources to do it. "Can you get a global network up and running by next week using existing equipment?"
I was beat up emotionally, under appreciated and hopeless because I was so unhappy with the treadmill of a life I had created for myself.
My two kids were growing up too fast, and when I took a weekend off, I was usually too tired to really play with them and needed the mental time down.
Every day I had to do it again...because who else was going to pay the bills?

A close friend of mine passed away and that made me realize that life is too short...and that my life was passing me by.
That tragic event was a turning point for me. Some would call it an epiphany, because it was then that I decided to change my life and do something I had dreamed about doing for many years...living and working for me.
I desperately needed to change the focus of my life from working all the time to having a healthier more enjoyable lifestyle.

While that was happening, my daughter wanted to go see Hannah Montana. Good ol' dad found out when they went on sale and scored 4. The whole family was going to go, but my son was saying he did not want to. I heard all the chatter about how hard these tickets were to get. So I figured, if he does not want to go and I could really care less about going, why not send my wife and daughter together and sell the other two.
My $65 tickets sold for $850 each within an hour of listing them. The concert initially cost me $260 (for all 4) and I just sold 2 for $1700! How many people can say they made money by having their kid see Hannah Montana?
I learned a couple of things that day.
1) I under priced the tickets
2) This was a business I had to learn more about.
Granted, not every event has the craziness of Hannah Montana, but I do not have to make 1300% in one day either to start having serious money come in. I asked myself the following:
How do I figure out what are the "hot tickets"?Where is the best place to sell?
Can I get tickets under face value?
What is a good pricing strategy?
When do I raise prices? Lower them?
How do you turn a few simple transactions into multiple ones for a larger
business and even more money?

Now my typical day is roll out of bed, take the kids to school, do my ticket work by lunch, workout and walk the kids home! My biggest joy is walking my kids home from school and helping them with homework. Did I mention they are now both "A" students?
Now more than ever I know what "Quality Of Life" means.
